State Results: Menlo in 5th!

At the CRF CA State Championships, held in Riverside, Menlo finished in 5th place overall. With a Round 1 victory over Gregori, a close loss to Clovis North Round 2, and then wins over Tamalpais and Elk Grove in Rounds 3 and 4, Menlo School received podium recognition for the 6th year in a row. Menlo is currently the sole team in CA to have more than 3 years in a row with the recognition.

Individually, Natalia Cordon capped an amazing season with a state witness award. Natalia was recognized with special honors at the NorCal, County and State levels; she will return next year as one of the top witnesses in the state. Rishi Varma, also returning next year, joined an elite group of individuals to have perfect scored the CA State Championship.

Next up: MMT decided not to attend the inaugural Golden State Tournament, and will be next seen in action when they send a 4-deep roster to Gladiator, the individual world championship tournament. Menlo’s Andy Parker won last year, and one of the 4 competing will seek to keep the trophy in Menlo’s possession.
